Storm Soccer Club is proud to announce that we are an official Club Participant in the TELUS She CAN Coach Program.
The TELUS She CAN Coach program is a national coach recruitment, development, and training initiative designed specifically for women, to address the challenges they face regarding soccer participation in Canada. The program aims to support new and entry-level women coaches, with the desired outcome of increasing the registration of women and girls in soccer while balancing the gender gap in participation nationwide.
“The lack of female coaches has meant lower engagement and retention rates for girls in the sport. Having female coaches are essential to providing everyday encouragement and support, they challenge stereotypes about gender and leadership and offer diverse perspectives, insight, and advice to their players. One hundred percent of male players have had a male coaching role model and young women deserve the same.
