Happy Holidays & Winter Update

Its been a busy start to the winter season at the new indoor facility at Soccer Nova Scotia with Storm Soccer teams scoring an incredible 241 goals in 41 games. Thats an average of over 5 goals per game!

We wanted to give thanks to all of our sponsors, volunteers, board members, assistant coaches, managers and head coaches for their dedication and committment to the kids and wish everyone a restful holiday.

Here is a brief round-up of the winter stats for all Storm Soccer teams as we enter the holiday break:

U10'B' Boys - Head Coach, Simon Wilson

Pl 8, W 7, D 1, L 0, GS 53, GA 26.

Simon has had the opportunity to call up some of our house boys for U10 boys academy games and he'll continue to do this throughout the winter months. Its been a solid start to the winter season and we are thrilled with the individual and team development of the U10 boys. Great job guys.

U10'B' Girls - Head Coach, Mike Lynch

Pl 7, W 7, D 0, L 0, GS 66, GA16

Mike's girls are a joy to coach. Their record is the best for any of the Storm teams and this makes us all very proud - and more importantly, all the girls are having fun! Mike also has four U12 girls too and they practice with the U12 boys from time-to-time. We'll be recruiting more U12 girls for the spring and summer for a full team.

U12'C' Boys - Head Coach, Stuart McCormack

Pl 11, W 9, D 0, L 2, GS 55, GA 17.

Many of Stuart's U12'C' boys are playing academy soccer for the first and they have adapted to competitive league play immediately. Their record speaks for itself and they even managed to overcome their top-of-the-table rivals Halifax City recently with a tight and exciting 5-4 win.

U12'B' Boys - Head Coach, Mark Harper

Pl 7, W 5, D 1, L 1, GS 30, GA 14

Many of our U12'B' boys have been playing academy soccer for 2 or 3 years now and they are developing into a tight knit group. They are competing in a talented U12'B' league this winter, where no game is an 'easy' encounter. Its a credit to the boys that they've only lost once so far this season and their 'never quit' attitude is infectious.

U14'B' Boys - Head Coach, Jon Hughes

Pl 8, W 6, D 1, L 1, GS 37, GA 21

The U14 boys team have come together from a mixture of existing Storm players and also Cole Harbour & Eastern Passage players. Like all other Storm teams they have formed into a close group of kids very quickly and currently sit top of the U14'B' division going into the holiday. Well done to Jon & Elaine Hughes and all the players of our Storm U14 boys for a great start to the winter!
