Winter 2011/12 Update
Its been a busy winter season at the new indoor facility at
Soccer Nova Scotia for all of our Storm Soccer teams.
_
Our 5 Academy teams combined to score an incredible 467 goals in 84 games. Thats an average of over 5 goals per game!
_
We wanted to give thanks to all of our sponsors, volunteers, board members, parents, assistant coaches, managers and head coaches for their dedication and committment to the kids and wish everyone a restful March break.

Here is a brief round-up of the final winter stats for all Storm Soccer teams as we enter the spring sessions:
U10'B' Boys - Head Coach, Simon Wilson
Pl 18, W 13, D 1, L 4, GS 124, GA 68.
Coach Simon had the opportunity to call up all of our 'house' boys for at least one U10 boys academy game during the winter months. Its been a solid start to Academy soccer for many of these boys and we are thrilled with the individual and team development of the U10 boys. Great job guys.

U10'B' Girls - Head Coach, Mike Lynch
Pl 18, W 16, D 0, L 2, GS 120, GA 39
Coach Mike's girls are a joy to coach. Their record is the best for any of the Storm teams and this makes us all very proud - and more importantly, all the girls are having fun! Mike also has four U12 girls too and they practice with the U12 boys from time-to-time. We'll be recruiting more U12 girls for the spring and summer for a full team.

U12'C' Boys - Head Coach, Stuart McCormack
Pl 16, W 14, D 0, L 2, GS 90, GA 27.
Many of Stuart's U12'C' boys were playing academy soccer for the first and they have adapted to competitive league play immediately. Their record speaks for itself and they topped off a great winter season with a gold medal win and overcame their top-of-the-table rivals Halifax City in the final game, winning on penalties.

U12'B' Boys - Head Coach, Mark Harper
Pl 16, W 10, D 1, L 5, GS 58, GA 43
Many of our U12'B' boys have been playing academy soccer for 2 or 3 years now and they are developing into a tight knit group. They were competing in a talented U12'B' league this winter, where no game is an 'easy' encounter. Its a credit to the boys that they managed to finish 4th, just missing out on the play-offs. Their 'never quit' attitude is infectious.

U14'B' Boys - Head Coach, Jon Hughes
Pl 16, W 12, D 1, L 3, GS 75, GA 39
The U14 boys team have come together from a mixture of existing Storm players and also Cole Harbour & Eastern Passage players. Like all other Storm teams they have formed into a close group of kids very quickly and finished the regular season on top of the U14'B' division. The boys had to settle for a silver medal in the U14 Boys final, but well done to Jon & Elaine Hughes and all the Storm U14 boys for a great winter season!
